Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Holds Third Meeting of the Committee for the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Week
Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held the third meeting of the Committee for the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Week. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Waddai, Assistant President of the University for Academic Affairs, and attended by several department directors at the University Presidency as well as academic assistants from its colleges and institutes.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Assistant President highlighted the importance of organizing various events and activities on this occasion, emphasizing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s directives on raising awareness among students, graduates, and the local community about entrepreneurship and its role in supporting the Iraqi national economy.
The meeting also reviewed the ongoing preparations to implement various activities at the University Presidency, its colleges, and institutes. The discussions emphasized the need for effective communication with companies, private banks, the broader private sector, and government agencies across all governorates to encourage their active participation in these initiatives.
Additionally, Mr. Ali Abdul Hussein Al-Zalmi, Director of the Science and Technology Parks Department at the University Presidency, stated that the university’s units agreed to prepare detailed programs for celebrating this week, which will include exhibitions, awareness workshops for students and graduates, success story presentations, competitions, and hackathons across various disciplines.
The meeting also focused on the media and communication strategies necessary to convey the concept of entrepreneurship, raising public awareness of its importance in providing employment for graduates, launching successful projects, and establishing sustainable and scalable companies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Assistant President expressed his gratitude to the attendees and wished them continued success and prosperity.
