In line with its ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative and institutional practices and standardize procedures across all its organizational units, while ensuring fairness, transparency, and timely completion of transactions, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, one of Iraq’s leading technical universities, organized a specialized workshop to standardize procedures for granting engineering allowances and occupational hazard allowances to legal professionals.
Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant to the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Mujtومي, the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs, in cooperation with the Central Committee for Granting Engineering and Occupational Hazard Allowances to Legal Professionals, held a specialized workshop on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, for the heads of the subcommittees at the university’s colleges and organizational units.
The workshop aimed to harmonize working mechanisms between the central committee and the subcommittees and introduce standardized forms and procedures to improve the quality of official minutes, reduce formal and administrative errors, and ensure the smooth conduct of work in accordance with applicable regulations and instructions.
The workshop addressed the legal basis and official references governing the granting of allowances, alongside discussions on coordination mechanisms and a unified workflow across the university’s organizational units. These efforts seek to expedite the processing of transactions, enhance the accuracy of reviewing applications and supporting documents, and strengthen digital archiving, file-tracking procedures, and the monitoring of continued eligibility for allowances.
The workshop programme included a lecture on standardizing approved procedures and forms, followed by a practical session on completing the forms and examining several real-world cases. Participants also reviewed the most common errors and discussed mechanisms for addressing them. A question-and-answer session and open discussion further helped promote a shared understanding and ensure consistency in implementation.
The workshop also outlined the unified workflow for processing applications, beginning with the receipt of applications and supporting documents at the relevant college, followed by meetings of the subcommittee, preparation of official minutes, internal review, and digital archiving. The process then proceeds to the submission of supporting documents for approval, followed by a meeting of the central committee, preparation of the final minutes, and follow-up on subsequent developments. This streamlined workflow is intended to reduce processing time and improve administrative efficiency.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing coordination and communication among the Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs, the central committee, and the subcommittees. They stressed the need to work collaboratively as one team to ensure the consistent application of regulations and instructions, guarantee accuracy and transparency in processing eligible applicants’ claims, serve the university’s personnel, and further enhance administrative and institutional performance.
