With the presence of the Iranian Consul, Sheikh Hadi Sahadat, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University hosted the second day of the fourth session of the Technical Education Council. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, President of the University, with the attendance of Professor Dr. Adnan Atiq, President of Southern Technical University, and the academic assistants of the technical universities, alongside representatives from the Joint Council of Iranian Universities (including Amir Kabir University, Sharif University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, and Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi University).
During the session, the University President opened discussions focusing on several key points:
Establishment of scientific and technological incubators.
Joint cooperation with Iranian universities.
A joint committee was formed between the technical universities of both countries to develop frameworks for cooperation and coordination between Iraqi and Iranian universities to undertake the following tasks:
Drafting addenda to memoranda of understanding between Iraqi universities and their Iranian counterparts to include institutional clauses for scientific and technological incubators.
Establishing a joint coordination committee responsible for planning, follow-up, and implementation.
Defining mechanisms for exchanging expertise in the management and operation of incubators.
Developing joint projects that can be converted into commercial products.
Designing integrated incubator models in Iraqi technical universities and the Technological University in collaboration with Iranian universities, and identifying relevant partners.
Additionally, several memoranda of understanding were signed between the Iraqi technical universities and the Joint Council of Iranian Universities.
From Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the session was attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; Professor Dr. Bashar Jabbar Hamza, Dean of the Higher Institute of Nanotechnology; Professor Dr. Hashem Hasab, Director of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations; along with a number of department directors from the university presidency.
