Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hêlo Al-Askari, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and within a strategic vision aimed at supporting young talents and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the Technical Engineering College–Najaf announced the continuation of Entrepreneurship and Creativity Week 2026 for the second day, coinciding with the Global Entrepreneurship Week, with close follow-up by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hasnain Ghani Al-Husseini.
The events witnessed the launch of the first introductory courses for the “Riyada” Initiative, which aims to transform creative ideas into practical projects capable of entering the labor market. The course, titled:
“Building the Engineering Future: Creativity and Entrepreneurship in a Single Project,”
was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hiba Abdulwahab Jibouri and Ms. Zainab Hilal Abdullah.
The course was attended by the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, reflecting the College Administration’s support for entrepreneurial initiatives that empower students, develop their scientific and practical skills, and enhance their role in building the national economy.
The course focused on integrating technical skills with an entrepreneurial mindset, introducing students to concepts of innovation, project planning, and leveraging engineering knowledge to create promising investment opportunities that contribute to supporting the private sector and achieving sustainable development.
These activities align with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s vision of fostering a culture of entrepreneurship within the academic environment, encouraging students to innovate and take initiative, in line with modern labor market requirements, affirming that from the Land of Mesopotamia, ideas and innovations that shape the future are born.
