Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Moves Toward Comprehensive Automation

In a step that marks the end of the era of paper-based records, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University has officially embarked on a comprehensive automation initiative.

Under the patronage and in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the Scientific Assistant to the University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadi, the Continuing Education Center at the University Presidency held a specialized workshop for officials of Continuing Education Units across all university formations. The workshop focused on training participants in the newly developed statistical system.

Designed by the Development Division at the Continuing Education Center, the new system is more than merely a software application; it is an intelligent platform designed to consolidate and manage all data and statistics related to courses, workshops, and trainees in real time, while facilitating monitoring and evaluation processes.

During his attendance at the workshop, Al-Zubaidi stated that this initiative is in line with the university’s policy and the Ministry of Higher Education’s direction toward digital transformation and electronic automation. He emphasized that “the university will no longer remain dependent on traditional systems. Every challenge encountered in the workflow should be addressed through an electronic system that saves time and effort and minimizes errors.”

For his part, the Director of the Continuing Education Center, Prof. Dr. Mahdi Hatif Kadhim, explained that the new system represents a genuine transformation in the operations of both the Center and its affiliated units. He noted that it has significantly contributed to organizing, streamlining, and consolidating statistical data with a high degree of accuracy, replacing traditional procedures that previously required considerable time and effort.

He further explained that the Center’s administration has been keen to develop a number of integrated computerized systems for implementation across its operations. The statistical system represents an extension of these systems, with additional systems to be introduced subsequently in order to address and overcome the various challenges encountered in the workflow.

The workshop was attended by a number of directors of relevant departments and included hands-on training for unit officials on how to use the new system, enter data, and generate statistical reports.
