Administrative Technical College of Kufa at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled: “International Internal Auditing Standards and Their Compatibility with the Iraqi Environment,” under the patronage of the University President, Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College, Dirgham Hassan Al-Abdali, with the attendance of a number of specialists, academics, and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The workshop hosted Salah Nouri Khalaf, Dean of the Institute of Certified Auditors, who presented the latest international internal auditing standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), highlighting their importance in strengthening governance, enhancing oversight, and improving institutional performance within Iraqi institutions.
The workshop also discussed the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), mechanisms for implementing international standards, as well as the major legislative and regulatory challenges facing internal audit units and the ways to address them in accordance with modern professional principles.
The workshop emphasized the importance of developing the internal auditing system in line with quality standards, transparency, and institutional reform. The university presidency and the college deanship also commended the scientific efforts exerted in organizing specialized activities that support the advancement of academic and administrative performance.
