Academic Translation:

Under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Dean of the Technical Institute of Kufa, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Technical Institute of Kufa, in cooperation with the Department of Nursing Techniques, the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques, and the volunteer team Watan Paramedics, organized a training course entitled “First Aid Skills in Crises and Disasters and the Prevention of Infectious and Common Diseases.” This initiative was implemented ضمن the framework of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, specifically under the Protection Pillar (First Clause), which focuses on conducting training programs aimed at developing women’s skills.

The course was held from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, to Sunday, April 12, 2026, and targeted staff members and students from the Departments of Nursing Techniques and Medical Laboratory Techniques. It aimed to enhance their capabilities in handling emergency situations and to raise their preparedness to مواجهة crises and disasters.

The sessions were delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Rusul Arif Abdul Ali and Assistant Lecturer Noor Hadi Hassan, alongside the volunteer team Watan Paramedics, who presented specialized theoretical and practical modules in first aid and rapid response.

The course aimed to equip participants with fundamental first aid skills during crises and disasters, strengthen their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency injuries, and promote awareness of preventive measures against infectious and common diseases under exceptional circumstances, thereby contributing to reducing injury and mortality rates during disasters.

The training program covered several key topics, most notably: an introduction to crises and incidents; fundamentals of first aid; first aid in disaster settings; prevention of infectious diseases during disasters; and methods for preventing common diseases.

This course comes as part of the university’s continuous efforts to empower women, develop their competencies, and enhance their role in effective community response, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and the requirements of societal security and peace.


In a separate development, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, held an extensive virtual meeting with Saratov State Technical University with the aim of strengthening academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.

During the meeting, prospects for joint collaboration were discussed. The Russian side outlined proposed areas of cooperation, including educational and academic activities, joint scientific research, academic exchange programs, participation in scientific conferences, and the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects. The Russian delegation also expressed its readiness to consider any additional proposals.

For his part, the University President provided an overview of the university’s colleges, institutes, and academic specializations, and discussed avenues for developing bilateral relations. He emphasized the importance of advancing technical education and improving its outcomes in line with labor market requirements, strengthening academic and scientific collaboration in research and teaching, and developing vocational and educational training programs through the exchange of expertise between both parties. The importance of organizing mutual academic visits to enhance institutional communication was also highlighted, in addition to exchanging administrative and academic information to improve university performance and elevate the quality of education.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining continuous communication and coordination, and working toward establishing practical mechanisms to activate the proposed areas of cooperation in order to achieve the desired objectives.
