Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and under the supervision of the Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, the Women’s Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture and Technological Sciences, held a specialized training workshop entitled “Design Your Project in 30 Minutes” on Monday, February 9, at the Scientific Complex Hall. The workshop was organized as part of the activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week and targeted students from the Departments of Legal Administration, Beauty and Laser Techniques, and Forensic Science at the Institute.
The workshop was presented by Ms. Huda Qasim Khazal, Head of the Graduate Support Division at the General Directorate of Development – Ministry of Industry, and Eng. Ikhlas Razaq Naham, Head of the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, while Dr. Haider Rasool Mohsen managed the workshop sessions.
The workshop aimed to empower students to transform their ideas into actionable entrepreneurial projects within a limited time frame, using a practical and interactive methodology that included idea generation techniques, market needs analysis, and the development of a simplified project plan model, in addition to training on professionally presenting ideas to supporting entities.
An intensive hands-on activity enabled participants to design prototype models of proposed projects during the workshop and present quick pitches to the audience, fostering initiative, teamwork, and practical engagement.
The workshop administration emphasized that this activity aligns with the University’s and Institute’s objectives of supporting the economic empowerment of students and graduates, promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, and linking academic disciplines with labor market opportunities, thereby preparing a generation capable of innovation and opportunity creation.
The workshop witnessed notable student engagement and concluded with Dr. Haider Al-Abdali, Dean of the Najaf Technical Institute, announcing the formation of a specialized committee to follow up on the entrepreneurial ideas presented during the workshop and to further develop students’ practical skills toward promising professional paths.
