Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Organizes a Workshop on First Aid to Promote Volunteerism and Humanitarian Service
The Technical Institute of Al-Rumaitha, a constituent institution of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, through its Department of Forensic Evidence and in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, organized a workshop entitled “First Aid.” The workshop was delivered by Technical Nurse Jaafar Al-Budairi and aimed to train students in the fundamentals of first aid and prepare them to participate in volunteer activities during the holy month of Muharram and the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The workshop covered essential procedures for responding to emergency situations and minor injuries, as well as the correct methods of administering first aid. It also included practical training on blood collection techniques, cannula insertion, and blood group identification, thereby enhancing students’ readiness to contribute effectively to volunteer and service teams during religious and large-scale public events.
This workshop forms part of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s ongoing efforts to support awareness-raising and volunteer initiatives while developing students’ practical skills in ways that contribute positively to community service and societal development.
