Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the Student Activities Department at the university’s presidency organized the Almilad Marathon for students in its second edition, in collaboration with the Monitoring, Media, and Government Communications Departments.
The President of the University delivered a congratulatory speech in which he extended his greetings to the deans, staff, and students on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the start of the new academic year 2023-2024. He urged the students to exert more effort in acquiring skills and knowledge, emphasizing the university’s support for all sports and artistic student activities due to their positive impact on the educational process.
Dr. Nasir Ahmed, the Director of the Student Activities Department, stated that the marathon started from Al-Kufa Corniche to the university campus in Al-Kufa, with wide participation from the university’s staff and students.
The Deputy Presidents of the University, as well as the deans of the university’s formations in Al-Kufa, attended the marathon, along with a large number of staff and students.
At the end, the top twenty students in the marathon and the officials of the Student Activities Department in the university’s formations were honored.
Mohammed Hussein Ali, a student from AL-Kufa Technical Institute, won first place, while Hussein Abdulridha Hamad from Al-Najaf Engineering Technical College secured second place. The third place was awarded to Mohsen Mohammed Zaher from Al-Najaf Technical Institute.
