The fair was attended by government officials, representatives of supporting and participating entities, the assistant presidents of the university, deans of colleges and institutes in Babil, Karbala, Najaf Al-Ashraf, as well as directors of departments at the university. In addition, a large audience of graduates and enrolled students attended.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs of Iraq and the occupied Palestine uprising, followed by the performance of the Iraqi national anthem.

In his speech, Al-Zuhairy highlighted the university’s efforts in equipping graduates through various training courses and workshops on soft skills that qualify them to enter the job market.

He also mentioned that the university had previously established the Industrial Advisory Council, which includes representatives from the private and mixed sectors, company managers, and contributed to the adoption of many activities and events related to providing real job opportunities for graduates, including job fairs. He mentioned that the university had organized the first Job Fair earlier last year with the participation of dozens of private sector companies, where 300 job opportunities were presented in various sectors.

Al-Zuhairy expressed his gratitude to the supporting entities and the institute’s deanship, as well as the preparatory and supporting committees for organizing this unique event.

Moreover, the President of the university presented certificates of appreciation and participation plaques to the supporting and participating entities in the fair, who expressed their willingness for future cooperation and praised the competence of the university’s graduates and the readiness of their companies to employ a large number of them.

Afterward, the President of the university cut the ribbon to inaugurate the exhibition and toured the booths of the participating companies, which numbered sixteen, and explored the available job opportunities, which amounted to 260 positions. More than 1,500 graduates submitted their applications along with their CVs, as the competition for the available opportunities is intense.

The fair garnered media attention from television channels, news agencies, and the press.
