Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University participated in a training workshop organized by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC) within the “Tawasol Project,” titled Skills and Strategies for Communication with the Private Sector.
The four-day workshop, held in Erbil, was attended by:
- Mr. Ali Abdul Hussein Al-Zalmi, Director of the Science and Technology Parks Department,
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Amir Hussein Mohammed, Head of the Career Development and Employment Unit, and
- Asst. Lecturer Mrs. Ikhlas Razzaq Nahham, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University Presidency.
The workshop included training sessions and activities on relationship management skills with the private sector, such as persuasion, trust-building, and effective communication in all its forms.
The training also covered methods for overcoming challenges that hinder collaboration with private sector companies, in addition to the use of artificial intelligence in communication, analyzing company needs, and generating persuasive awareness content. Strategic action plans were developed for communication with companies, along with case analysis and the study of success stories from the region and the world.
On the final day, meetings were held with a number of private sector companies from various fields, resulting in agreements on cooperation and partnership in light of the Ninth Amendment to the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which established the legislative basis for such partnerships and opened new horizons for universities to enter the labor market and contribute to supporting the national economy.
At the conclusion of the workshop, certificates were distributed to participants from the Ministry’s central offices, the four technical universities, and professional training centers.
