Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University participated in the central celebration of the National Day of the Holy Qur’an, held in Al-Hakim Hall at the University of Baghdad under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi.
The celebration was attended by several presidents of public universities, deans of both public and private colleges, distinguished guests, university professors from various Iraqi institutions, and students who have memorized the Holy Qur’an.
Representing the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, was the Dean of the Technical Institute in Babylon, Prof. Dr. Ores Abys. Her participation aimed to enhance the spiritual values and scientific aspects of the event, as well as to reinforce the role of the Holy Qur’an in academic studies and research.
During his speech, the Minister, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, emphasized the importance of the event in promoting Qur’anic studies. He reaffirmed the ministry’s support for such initiatives, which contribute to advancing scientific research in Qur’anic sciences and Islamic studies. He also highlighted the responsibility of the Ministry of Higher Education and its academic institutions to seriously contribute to raising societal awareness of the Holy Qur’anic culture and its role in building and preserving societal values—a collective responsibility shared by all.
The celebration featured impactful speeches and academic presentations on the Holy Qur’an’s role in shaping Islamic thought and enhancing cultural identity.
The event concluded with the recognition of participating professors and students who had memorized the Holy Qur’an and had been admitted through the Qur’an Channel. The spiritual atmosphere underscored the Holy Qur’an’s importance in building society and strengthening Islamic values.
