Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the university’s students participated in the Sixth Central Graduation Ceremony “Fityat Al-Kafeel – On the Guidance of the Moon Cohort,” organized by the Holy Abbasid Shrine in the holy city of Karbala under the slogan “From the Rain of Karbala, Giving Grows,” with the attendance of representatives from dozens of Iraqi public and private universities.

The ceremony was held in a distinguished celebratory atmosphere, during which students of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University had an active presence among the participating delegations, affirming their commitment to national and religious values while celebrating the culmination of their educational journey at the Holy Abbasid Shrine. The students took part in the oath of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, alongside chanting the Iraqi national anthem, reflecting a strong spirit of pride and national affiliation among graduates from various academic disciplines.

In the same context, the Holy Abbasid Shrine had extended an official prior invitation to Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to nominate its students for participation in this celebration. The Student Activities Department coordinated the participation of a delegation of more than 250 students from various colleges and institutes of the university in the national and cultural events organized by the Holy Abbasid Shrine.

The “Fityat Al-Kafeel” graduation ceremony is considered one of the largest central graduation events for university graduates in Iraq, bringing together thousands of students annually in distinguished activities that include guidance speeches, the graduation oath, and honoring graduates, with the aim of strengthening the spirit of national belonging and encouraging youth to serve their country across various scientific and community fields.
