A New Achievement Added to the University’s Record of Excellence… University Students Secure an Advanced Position Among Iraqi Universities
Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University has achieved fifth place among participating Iraqi public and private universities in the annual evaluation of student activities for the 2025–2026 academic year, conducted by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority. This achievement reflects the university’s active presence and the excellence of its students across various fields of university activities.
This achievement is the result of the continuous support provided by the University Presidency for student activities, along with the ongoing follow-up of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the supervision of the Assistant University President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Mohsen Al-Majtoomi. It also reflects the significant efforts made by the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, the staff of the university’s affiliated institutions, and the participating students and faculty members across various events.
During the past academic year, the university’s students demonstrated an active presence in sports championships, cultural and artistic competitions, volunteer and scouting activities, and various creative events. They also took part in distinguished activities that contributed to achieving advanced results in different university forums, making fifth place in Iraq a culmination of a continuous path of hard work, dedication, and excellence.
On this occasion, the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, affirmed that this achievement is a natural outcome of the university’s commitment to its students. He noted that student activities constitute a fundamental pillar in developing a well-rounded university student, given their role in discovering talents, developing skills, and fostering initiative and teamwork, alongside academic achievement.
He further emphasized that the university will continue to support student activities and provide students with an appropriate environment and the necessary resources to participate and excel. This will further strengthen the presence of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University at various university forums and open broader opportunities for its students to achieve further accomplishments.
For his part, the Assistant University President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Mohsen Al-Majtoomi, stated that achieving fifth place among more than 70 Iraqi public and private universities is the result of cumulative efforts and continuous work. He praised the support provided by the University Presidency, as well as the efforts of the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, the staff of the university’s affiliated institutions, and the students and faculty members who participated in various events.
He added that this achievement demonstrates the ability of the university’s students to actively participate and secure advanced positions across various fields. He also emphasized the importance of continuing to work in a spirit of teamwork to further develop student activities and strengthen the achievements that reflect the distinguished standing of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
