Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Hosts Discussions on Creativity and Innovation
In a step reflecting the university’s openness to creative and innovative initiatives, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, received Dr. Rehab Hussein Jabbar, a faculty member at the College of Basic Education and Head of the Citizens’ Affairs Division at the Presidency of the University of Kufa. The meeting focused on exploring avenues of cooperation to organize a Creativity and Innovation Forum in Najaf Governorate.
The discussions primarily addressed ways to strengthen scientific cooperation among higher education institutions and mechanisms for organizing a scientific forum dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation. The initiative aims to support the academic environment, broaden avenues for scholarly communication, and facilitate the exchange of expertise in ways that contribute to the advancement of education and scientific research.
The meeting went beyond a formal protocol occasion and resulted in a notable academic initiative. The forum’s representative presented a collection of valuable books and scholarly publications featured during the Seventh International Scientific Conference on Creativity and Innovation, held under the patronage of the Prime Minister and under the supervision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The publications were presented as an academic donation to be added to the university library’s holdings.
During the meeting, Al-Zubaidi affirmed that the university places knowledge, creativity, and innovation at the core of its strategic vision. He commended the role of the Iraqi International Conference on Creativity and Innovation in enriching the country’s cultural and scientific landscape, while expressing appreciation for the contribution, which will help expand the knowledge resources available to the university’s students, researchers, and faculty members.
The initiative further underscores the strength of the ongoing institutional partnership aimed at organizing such a forum for creativity and innovation, with the participation of Iraqi universities. The effort seeks to establish creativity as a fundamental pillar in building a scientific community capable of keeping pace with the evolving demands of academic and technological development.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Atheer Kadhim Abadi, Dean of Kufa Polytechnic College, and the Head of the Citizens’ Affairs Division at the University Presidency.
