Within the framework of developing academic and professional capacities and enhancing the efficiency of teaching staff—thereby contributing to the improvement of educational quality, keeping pace with institutional development requirements, and building modern academic skills based on interaction, leadership, and effective communication—Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University participated in the Certified Trainer Preparation Program in Soft Skills Development, organized by Northern Technical University. The university was represented in the program by lecturers Bahaa Abdul-Hurr Hatem and Balsam Bassem Shanan from the Continuing Education Center.
The program aims to develop the skills of faculty members, teachers, trainers, and professionals working in academic fields.
The training program commenced with an opening session that included speeches by the program organizers, emphasizing the importance of regional and international academic partnerships in supporting professional development programs. This was followed by a lecture delivered by Professor Taqi bin Abdul-Ridha Al-Abdawani, Chief Executive Officer of the International Institute for Training and Institutional Development, in which he addressed the practical and strategic dimensions of soft skills development in the academic environment and their role in enhancing institutional and educational performance.
The program also featured a speech by the implementing body, delivered by Professor Ali bin Hamad Al-Badi, Dean of Gulf College in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, who underscored the importance of the program in preparing certified trainers equipped with modern tools aligned with international standards in education and training.
In a related context, the Omani delegation conveyed the greetings of Her Excellency Professor Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al-Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation in the Sultanate of Oman, to the program participants. Her Excellency wished them maximum benefit from the training program and prayed to Almighty God to bestow upon all brothers in the Republic of Iraq and their esteemed country—renowned for its rich history—the blessings of stability, security, peace, and sustained progress and prosperity.
It is worth noting that the program was implemented according to an integrated training schedule combining interactive lectures with practical applications, thereby enhancing participants’ capabilities and enabling them to transfer the acquired expertise to their educational institutions in support of sustainable academic development.
