As part of its initiative to attract international students, following the launch of the third edition of the “Study in Iraq” program by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the academic year 2025-2026, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University received the first group of Arab and international students to continue their higher education studies.
The students were welcomed at Baghdad International Airport by Mr. Aisar Abdul Azim Al-Bakka, Officer in charge of the Arab and International Students Division under the “Study in Iraq” program, and Mr. Ali Abdul Nabi, Director of the Security Permits Department. They were accommodated in the university dormitories at the Technical Engineering College in Najaf and the Technical Engineering College in Musayyib, according to their respective university admissions, in coordination with Dr. Zaid Ma’an Al-Dulaimi, Head of the Departments.
Dr. Hashim Ali Hasab, Director of the Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department, oversaw the completion of the students’ registration requirements and emphasized that this achievement reflects the university’s commitment to providing an outstanding educational environment for students from diverse nationalities. This initiative also contributes to enhancing the national ranking of the university. The university awaits the arrival of subsequent batches of international students.
