As part of his field visits to various aspects of work, Prof.Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, visited the Continuing Education Center and met with a number of staff members. He observed a range of activities and tasks carried out by the center and praised the efforts made to provide the best services to the university’s affiliates, students, and other segments of society.
During his visit, the university president attended a part of the seventy-two teaching methods course, which is being implemented by the center with the participation of holders of higher degrees from the university’s affiliates, government and private universities, as well as educational institutions.
In his speech, he stressed the importance of adopting modern teaching methods that make the student the focal point of the educational process, through brainstorming and encouraging students to research, think critically, and be creative. He also emphasized the need to use modern and advanced methods in presenting scientific material and ensuring that students acquire sufficient knowledge and skills to enter the job market.
Al-Zuhairy, in another part of his speech, pointed out that the ethical and moral aspects are of equal importance to the scientific aspect. This requires the teaching staff to give importance to topics related to values and higher ideals, alongside scientific subjects in the field of specialization.
It is worth mentioning that the Continuing Education Center at the university organizes a variety of training programs, starting from teaching methods, language proficiency courses in Arabic and English, computer courses, and specialized courses according to the requirements of the beneficiaries, as well as soft skills courses for graduates, which are implemented in coordination with the Rehabilitation and Employment Department.
