Given the importance and priority of sustainable development at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University (ATU), the Department of Media and Public Relations at the University’s Presidency organized a workshop titled (Sustainable Development and the University’s Role in its Implementation) under the patronage of the university chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, and in the presence of the vice Chancellor for Management Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mohsen Al-Majtoumi, and many faculties staff members.
During his speech, Al-Zuhairy emphasized the importance of working to embody the concept of sustainable development in all environmental, social, and economic fields, noting that the university has implemented many initiatives in this field, particularly concerning ecological development by expanding on-campus green spaces and adopting green transportation to reduce emissions and toxic gases, as well as the adoption of solar energy in several facilities and other initiatives adopted by the university.
