In a new qualitative initiative, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, opened a literacy eradication course organized by the Continuing Education Center at the University Presidency.
Al-Zuhairy, during his attendance, inaugurated the course by welcoming the female and male participants who participated in it, giving them the title of “elite” for the services they provide and the good effort they make in serving the university.
The President of the University stressed in his speech the importance of learning to read and write to achieve the comprehensive development of the individual and society, citing the Holy Verses and what was narrated about the righteous predecessors. He considered this initiative one of the important educational initiatives adopted by the University Presidency, pointing out that eradicating illiteracy represents eradicating ignorance, poverty and backwardness, especially since illiteracy is one of the most important challenges facing societies.
In conclusion, Dr. Al-Zuhairy expressed his wishes for success for all participants in the course, stressing that learning is the path to progress, a better future and achieving success at the personal and professional levels.
Al-Zuhairy called on all female and male workers in the university to take advantage of the available educational opportunities and participate in future educational initiatives.
It is noted that the course lasts for a month, and more than 25 workers from the university service staff participated in it.
This course comes within the university’s quest to develop its employees’ skills and enable them to actively participate in the education and development process. This course also marks the beginning of a series of future initiatives that the university will take in the field of education and literacy eradication.
