As part of the ongoing activities of the technical universities delegation currently visiting Romania, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest.
During the meeting with senior officials at the university, Al-Zuhairy delivered a speech in which he provided an overview of technical education in Iraq. He highlighted the initiatives adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the field of internationalization, which constitutes a pivotal goal for the visiting delegation. These initiatives include the application of the Bologna process in Iraqi universities and the “Study in Iraq” initiative launched by the Minister, which has opened avenues for collaboration with reputable international universities.
The memorandum of understanding, signed by Al-Zuhairy in the presence of the cultural attaché Dr. Shaker Kadhim and the visiting delegation, encompasses several aspects of scientific and cultural cooperation. It proposes a preliminary framework for a detailed memorandum of understanding to be signed later between the two universities.
During his earlier tour, Al-Zuhairy had the opportunity to visit research laboratories, workshops, and lecture halls at Politehnica University of Bucharest, in addition to attending several meetings that included presentations on the universities’ key activities and events visited.
