Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and within a strategic vision aimed at supporting young talents and promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, Al-Samawah Technical Institute continues the activities of Entrepreneurship and Creativity Week 2026 for the fifth consecutive day. This coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week and is closely followed by the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Sabah Mohammed Al-Mutawaggi.

As part of these activities, the Institute organized a training workshop entitled “From Idea to Business Model: Practical Methodologies for Establishing Entrepreneurial Projects,” within the framework of its efforts to keep pace with modern educational approaches and to foster a learning environment that supports innovation.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturers Lama and Shaher Rikan, who presented entrepreneurship as the ability to generate innovative ideas and transform them into successful ventures that create added value for society while generating profit for their founders, with an emphasis on risk-taking and continuous development. The workshop also included a practical presentation of business model development methodologies and mechanisms for transforming innovative ideas into implementable projects.

The workshop aimed to equip students with fundamental knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and to prepare an entrepreneurial generation capable of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the needs of the labor market and society, thereby strengthening the role of youth as leaders in innovation and creativity.

It further sought to qualify students to become active and productive contributors capable of creating employment opportunities for themselves and others, while enhancing their competencies in strategic planning, resource management, problem-solving, and decision-making, thus improving their ability to address economic and professional challenges effectively.

The workshop outcomes were positively reflected in students’ increased self-confidence, strengthened initiative, enhanced leadership and creativity skills, and heightened awareness of labor market requirements, enabling them to contribute effectively to their economic and social environments.

This workshop forms part of a series of activities and programs that Al-Samawah Technical Institute is committed to organizing in support of young talents and to encouraging students to employ modern technologies in developing their academic and entrepreneurial competencies.
