At the Start of His Official Visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Al-Zubaidi Meets with the Iraqi Ambassador in Amman
At the outset of his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, met with Mr. Omar Al-Barzanji, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the Iraqi Embassy in the capital, Amman.
The meeting took place in the presence of a delegation of presidents of Iraqi technical universities, headed by Professor Dr. Waddah Amer Al-Tamimi, President of the Middle Technical University, along with representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The meeting was held as part of a study tour organized by the Tawasul Project, funded by the Canadian government.
The discussions focused on ways to support Iraqi students studying at Jordanian universities, facilitate their academic and administrative affairs, and strengthen channels of coordination between the embassy and technical universities to address students’ needs, monitor their academic progress, and resolve the challenges they face.
Al-Zubaidi emphasized that supporting students studying abroad constitutes a national and institutional priority. He noted that this commitment reflects the responsibility of Iraqi institutions to support their students and provide an appropriate environment for their educational journeys, enabling them to serve as ambassadors of science and knowledge and contribute to transferring expertise back to Iraq.
For his part, the Ambassador welcomed the academic delegation and affirmed the embassy’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities and support for Iraqi students, as well as to coordinate directly with technical universities in ways that enhance the presence of Iraqi students and promote their academic excellence in the Kingdom of Jordan.
