Under the slogan “Following in the Footsteps of Imam Ali (peace be upon him)… We Revive Heritage and Preserve Values,” and under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, with direct supervision from the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanim Wadi, the Central Library Department, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, organized the first annual festival entitled “Alawi Taste and Generosity… Flavors of Loyalty to the Successor of the Kaaba” in Al-Kawthar Square.

During his tour of the festival, the University President emphasized that these dishes are not merely food but messages of “loyalty and solidarity” inspired by the principles of justice established by the path of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

Meanwhile, a UNICEF delegation expressed admiration for the university’s ability to link charitable work with cultural identity, integrating “the taste of generosity” with social responsibility through solidarity initiatives accompanying the event.

The festival was attended by a UNICEF delegation, along with university department directors, staff members, and a large number of students.

This initiative draws inspiration from the values of justice, humanity, and social solidarity established by the path of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and reflects the university’s role in promoting cultural identity and reinforcing social responsibility.

The festival’s activities included showcasing traditional and popular dishes that embody the generosity and authenticity of Najafi heritage. The dishes were evaluated by a specialized judging committee according to specific criteria, within a competitive atmosphere reflecting creativity and pride in cultural heritage.

The event also featured musical and choral interludes performed by a specialized troupe, singing in praise of the family of the Prophet (peace be upon them) and reciting Alawi eulogies, adding a spiritual ambiance and engaging the audience. The festival included a humanitarian segment honoring several orphans, embodying the principles of care and social solidarity.

Other festival activities ranged from exhibitions of heritage books, Arabic calligraphy, and artwork to cultural and artistic initiatives that reflected loyalty and generosity.
