Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University – Center for Continuing Education, in cooperation with Al-Gulf College in the Sultanate of Oman, concluded the specialized international training program for the preparation of certified trainers in soft skills development within academic environments. The program was held from January 25 to 28, 2026, in the Sultanate of Oman / Muscat Governorate, in collaboration with the International Institute for Training and Institutional Development, and with the participation of more than 60 attendees from Iraqi and Arab universities.
The closing ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Sultanate of Oman, Ambassador Qais Saad Hassan Al-Ameri, along with a distinguished group of academics and trainers from both countries. Participants were awarded internationally accredited certificates issued by the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Office.
The implementation of this program comes within the framework of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University’s strategy to enhance international partnerships and to consolidate its position as a regional center of excellence in human capacity building and the development of academic competencies.
On this occasion, the Director of the Center for Continuing Education, Professor Dr. Mahdi Hatif Kazem, honored His Excellency the Iraqi Ambassador by presenting him with the University Shield. He also honored the program trainer, Professor Dr. Taqi Al-Abdawani, and the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Bawi.
