Within the context of the campaign taking place at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to rebuild the infrastructure and rehabilitate the university environment.
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, visited the Babylon Technical Institute, and was welcomed by the Dean of the Institute, Assistant Professor Dr. Awras Khudair Obies, staff, and students of the aforementioned institute.
The visit included the opening of the Continuing Education Hall, and Al-Mutanabbi Hall for meetings, seminars, scientific, and cultural activities. The event coincided with the organization of the Babylon Technical Institute the Central Quranic Forum for university students in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas’s Holy Shrine – the House of the Holy Quran.
During his tour, the President of the University directed the need to pay attention to the university environment, including halls, workshops, laboratories, and other service facilities that make the institute a model and attractive environment through rational management of material and human resources.
He also praised the remarkable development in infrastructure and environment of the university, in addition to the expansion of green spaces surrounding Ibn Idris and Al Zahra buildings, and the use of modern irrigation systems.
It is worth noting that the Continuing Education Center at the Institute is considered one of the important facilities that contribute to the development of skills and sustainable education, and includes a model hall for continuing education equipped with the latest educational tools, such as an interactive screen and a smart board that supports phone and tablet applications, laptops, and office furniture that can accommodate 30 participants. The building also includes the administrative section, which consists of four halls equipped with office furniture, for the official and employees of the Continuing Education Center and a service complex.
Al-Mutanabbi Hall, which is one of the main halls at the Institute, has been repaired. It covers an area of more than 500 square meters, with a capacity of more than 300 people. It includes a theater, display screens, audio system, and recording cameras, which are used to hold major conferences, seminars, celebrations, and cultural and scientific events.
The work was implemented directly by the engineering and technical staff of the institute under the supervision and direct support of the university and the construction and projects department.
The event was attended by Sheikh Dr. Khair Al-Din Ayoub Ali Al-Hadi, Director of the Holy Quran House Department at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, Director of the Holy Quran House Department – Babylon Branch, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadday, Deans of the Technical College of Al-Musayyab and the Technical Institute of Al-Musayyab, a number of department directors, members of the Holy Quran House, senior staff, members and students of the aforementioned institute.
The members who implemented the projects were also honored in the Mutanabbi Hall, in honor of the birth of the Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her).
