Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, the Student Activities Department organized a Quranic symposium in cooperation with the Scientific Complex of the Holy Abbasia Shrine for university students as part of the department’s activities for the academic year (2024-2025).
For his part, the Preacher and Researcher Sheikh Zaman Al-Hasnawi gave a valuable lecture in which he discussed the importance of seeking knowledge and its role in building the individual and society, reviewing how Islam gave this issue great importance, citing the saying of the Noble Prophet (may God bless him and his family): “Seek knowledge even in China”.
Sheikh Al-Hasnawi emphasized during his lecture that Islam views knowledge as a basic means to achieve human prosperity and comprehensive development, pointing out that the pursuit of knowledge is not limited to religious matters, but rather includes all fields that contribute to building human civilization and organizing people’s lives on logical and just foundations. The symposium concluded with the interaction of the audience through raising questions and interventions in the fields of jurisprudence, doctrine, and contemporary intellectual challenges. Then, the President of the University honored Sheikh Al-Hasnawi for his presence and contribution to guiding university students towards the right paths in their scientific and social lives. Then, the Holy Abbasia Shrine honored the President of the University for his support in holding these important and qualitative activities for university students.
