During the visit of the Chairman of the Najaf Al-Ashraf Provincial Council, Dr. Hussein Al-Issawi, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, accompanied the distinguished guest on an inspection tour of the reconstruction projects at the newly established College of Health and Medical Technologies for Medical Rehabilitation. The tour was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fares Mohammed Al-Jaafari, along with a number of members of the University Council.

The visit aimed to review the progress of work on a number of buildings and follow up on the implementation of the items specified in the estimated cost assessment, work progress schedule, completion rates, and the equipment and requirements that have been provided to ensure a comfortable and safe university environment for students at the beginning of the upcoming academic year.

Dr. Al-Issawi expressed his observations regarding the ongoing work, emphasizing that all materials and construction works must comply with standard engineering specifications.

During the tour, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi stressed the importance of expediting the completion of the projects in accordance with the specified timelines, emphasizing the need to adhere to the highest quality standards in finishing works and in equipping classrooms and specialized laboratories to meet the requirements of health and medical disciplines.

Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi stated:

“The College of Health and Medical Technologies for Medical Rehabilitation represents a fundamental pillar in preparing qualified healthcare professionals capable of meeting the needs of healthcare institutions in the province and across Iraq. Therefore, we are committed to providing an integrated infrastructure that includes smart lecture halls, modern laboratories, and model medical rehabilitation clinics.”

Under the Direction and Support of the University Presidency

The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Fares Mohammed Al-Jaafari, explained that the college has witnessed significant expansion in recent months, including the construction of new classrooms for undergraduate studies, as well as laboratories for physical therapy, motor rehabilitation, and prosthetics.

He noted that the completion rate of some buildings has exceeded 70%, with the remaining works expected to be completed before the start of the academic year.

For his part, the Chairman of the Najaf Al-Ashraf Provincial Council, Dr. Hussein Al-Issawi, praised the efforts made by the University Presidency and the College Deanship, affirming the Council’s continued support for educational and healthcare projects in the province, considering them an investment in human capital.

Dr. Al-Issawi added:

“The development we have witnessed in the infrastructure reflects the University’s commitment to providing a high-quality educational service. We will work with the local government to overcome any obstacles and provide the necessary allocations to complete these vital projects.”

The tour concluded with an inspection of the classrooms and college facilities, as well as a review of the college’s needs for furniture and medical equipment. Prof. Dr. Al-Zubaidi directed the formation of a technical committee to monitor the implementation of the projects on a weekly basis and submit a detailed report on completion rates and any obstacles, so that they can be addressed immediately.
