Development at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University Is No Longer Just About Raising Walls; It Is a Vision Taking Shape Across Its 17 Academic and Administrative Units
Development at Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University is no longer merely about raising walls; it is a vision being transformed into a tangible reality across its 17 academic and administrative units.
Today, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, inaugurated two new facilities at Al-Musayyib Technical College: the Administrative Complex and the Central Student Club. The move aims to ease administrative congestion and provide an integrated university environment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the University President’s Assistants for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai and Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Mohsen Al-Majtoumi, as well as the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ali Wadi Al-Zubaidi. The ceremony was also attended by the deans of the Higher Institute for Nanotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, Babylon Polytechnic College, and Al-Musayyib Polytechnic College, along with a number of department directors at the University Presidency, the engineering and technical teams responsible for implementing the project, and senior staff members at the college.
The two projects were implemented through the efforts of the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the University Presidency, under the direct supervision of the college administration. The Administrative Complex consists of two floors housing 28 fully serviced administrative offices, with 12 offices on the ground floor and 16 on the second floor. The offices were designed according to standards of functionality and flexibility.
The Student Club, meanwhile, features a modern two-story design that includes a central kitchen, a fast-food corner, a library, a photocopying center, and an outdoor relaxation garden, providing students with a dedicated space for both services and recreation.
During the inauguration, Al-Zubaidi stated: “What we are witnessing today in Al-Musayyib is part of a comprehensive strategy to redesign and modernize the infrastructure across all units of the university. We are not merely constructing buildings; we are creating an environment that fosters creativity and academic achievement. The development campaign is ongoing and will not stop at any particular university unit.”
For his part, the Dean of the College emphasized that “the two complexes represent a significant improvement in the level of services. The first will put an end to administrative overcrowding and accelerate the processing of transactions for students and staff, while the second will provide students with a suitable space for relaxation and activities, featuring a design that meets the requirements of quality and sustainability.”
