It Was More Than Just a Question-and-Answer Contest; It Was an Arena for Intellectual Exchange and a Test of Quick Thinking.
The Imam Al-Ridha (Peace Be Upon Him) Hall at Karbala Polytechnic College hosted the activities of the Central University Knowledge Bank Competition, with broad participation from 14 academic units affiliated with Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University across the provinces of the Middle Euphrates region.
The competition was held as part of the university’s academic programme for the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year. It was graciously sponsored by the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and directly supervised by the Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College, Professor Dr. Fadhil Mohammed Dhahir.
Over several hours of intense competition, the college’s halls witnessed a distinctive intellectual and scientific atmosphere characterized by transparency and a spirit of positive competition. Participating students demonstrated their wealth of knowledge and general information across various scientific and cultural fields, showcasing their intellectual abilities and skills in analysis and rapid deduction.
The competition resulted in the selection of a distinguished group of students to represent Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in upcoming ministerial competitions, as part of an initiative aimed at identifying, supporting, and developing student talent.
In this regard, Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Jalil Al-Tamimi, Director of the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, praised the excellent organization and the smooth coordination of the competition’s segments. He also commended the considerable efforts made by the Deanship of Karbala Polytechnic College, represented by the Dean and the Student Activities Division, in providing all the logistical requirements necessary for the success of this cultural event.
For their part, the heads of the Student Activities Divisions from the participating academic units expressed their sincere appreciation for the warm welcome, generous hospitality, and excellent organization, which reflect the distinguished standing of Karbala Polytechnic College.
This event forms part of the university’s strategy to promote meaningful student activities, enhance students’ intellectual and cultural capabilities, and foster a culture of fair academic competition and effective communication among its academic units.
