The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, announced the issuance of a letter of thanks and appreciation from the Prime Minister to Iraqi academics. He also extended his gratitude to all members of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its affiliated institutions on the occasion of Iraqi Academic Day.
During the celebration, the minister honored a number of families of martyrs and the wounded, university presidents, representatives of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and several distinguished researchers.
In his speech, delivered on behalf of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, in the presence of a large gathering of academics and parliamentary figures, Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized that commitment to development has always been the cornerstone of academic performance. He highlighted that the past two and a half years of work at the Ministry have been marked by significant achievements, including the establishment of the Scientific Research Authority, internationalization of education, alignment of academic programs with global developments, accreditation of Iraqi degrees, improvement of the Iraqi scientific research index, and the enrollment of over 3,000 international students in Iraqi universities.
Meanwhile, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Dr. Ali Maseer, praised the care and attention shown by Dr. Al-Aboudi in managing the higher education sector and universities, achieving a high level of academic performance for Iraqi higher education institutions within the framework of global rankings and databases.
