As part of its approach to communicate with Iraqi, Arab, and international universities, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, signed a scientific memorandum of understanding with the Northern Technical University.
The ceremony was attended by academic, official, and community figures from the central and regional governments, including the Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Haider Abd-Dahd Al-Rubaie; the Chairman of the Parliamentary Education Committee, Professor Muzahim Al-Khayat; the Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil; the presidents of technical universities in the central and regional governments; the President of the University of Technology; and several ministry department directors.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Noor University, a member of the Parliamentary Education Committee, the Head of the Supervisory Authority in the Kurdistan Region, and a representative of the Minister of Education in the Kurdistan Region.
Al-Zubaidi emphasized that the signing of the agreement was in line with the Ministry’s policy, represented by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to create a true and effective partnership between government universities and colleges to develop universities, achieving their prestige and prominence at the Arab and international levels.
It is worth noting that the agreement included the possibility of exchanging scientific expertise through the exchange of professors to conduct research, hold scientific meetings, give lectures, and discuss theses and dissertations, in addition to supporting scientific projects and training programs. The agreement also included cooperation in developing curricula in corresponding departments and utilizing laboratory equipment from both parties.
The agreement emphasized enhancing cooperation in the field of authoring and publishing joint scientific research in reputable journals within international scientific repositories, in addition to attending conferences, seminars, workshops, scientific and cultural competitions, and participating in scientific celebrations and events held by the two universities.
The agreement also included enhancing cooperation in the field of authoring scientific books and articles, exchanging publications, scientific references, and knowledge, which would contribute to achieving academic goals, in addition to supporting visits by faculty members in scientific fields and joint activities.
It is also worth noting that the Northern Technical University has signed several agreements with the above-mentioned universities.
