Participated in the First Scientific Conference on Addressing Unemployment and Poverty in Iraq for the year 2026, held in cooperation between Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Ministry of Planning, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, took part in the conference proceedings.
The University President chaired one of the scientific sessions within the conference program, where he led its discussions and contributed to enriching its deliberations. He emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between academic institutions and government bodies to address issues of unemployment and poverty through sustainable, evidence-based scientific approaches.
The conference was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hala Al-Askari, who highlighted the importance of aligning educational outputs with the requirements of the labor market. It also included a presentation by the Acting Minister of Planning, Dr. Khalid Battal Al-Najm, who reviewed development indicators related to poverty and unemployment.
This participation reflects the university’s role in supporting national issues and contributing to the development of scientific solutions to pressing developmental challenges.
