The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, received a delegation from the World University Service Organization in Canada headed by Mr. Osama Muhammad Kazim, the country director in Iraq.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University welcomed the guests and praised the efforts of the organization through the “Tawasul Project” to build the capacities of workers in the field of qualifying and employing graduates and facilitating the building of partnerships between Iraqi technical universities and the labor market in the private sector.
His Excellency confirmed the university’s readiness to further cooperate with the project and provide all the necessary requirements and capabilities for its success.
For his part, the head of the delegation expressed his high thanks for the great cooperation shown by the university and its active participation in the many workshops held by the organization in Baghdad and Erbil under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which included many discussion sessions and training activities for members of the qualification and employment organization in the four technical universities, related to meeting the needs of the labor market and soft skills and developing partnerships with the private sector through industrial advisory councils.
The guest delegation was briefed on the university’s activities in the field of qualifying students and graduates to enter the labor market, especially the graduate empowerment courses held by the university in partnership with the Najaf Chamber of Industry, according to a well-studied approach in which experts and specialists from higher education and the labor market participated in preparing, which resulted in the employment of all graduates of these courses in the chamber’s laboratories. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Vice President of Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Muhammad Al-Majtoumi, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, and the official in charge of women’s affairs in the university presidency, Ms. Ikhlas Razzaq Naham.
