Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and in the presence of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, the activities of the Iraqi Universities Volleyball Championship (Female Students) concluded.
It is noteworthy that the championship was held within the curriculum of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Student Activities Department for the year 2024-2025, the first semester, and hosted by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University and a number of governmental and private universities, with wide participation from governmental universities and private universities and colleges.
The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Kufa, Professor Dr. Alaa Naji Jassim, and the Vice Presidents of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Majtoumi, Vice President of the University for Administrative Affairs, and a number of department directors, university members, heads of delegations, and students of participating universities.
In a statement by the representative of the Ministry, Mr. Muhaimin Samir, he expressed his thanks and high appreciation to the President of the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the host universities, and all workers in the organizing and preparatory committees for the success and excellence of the tournament’s activities and completing them in the most beautiful way.
The events continued for five consecutive days and the final match was held between the teams:
University of Babylon x University of Kufa, which ended with the victory of the University of Babylon with a score of (1-3)
The final results of the tournament were as follows:
First place: University of Babylon
Second place: University of Kufa
Third place shared: University of Al-Qadisiyah + Al-Qasim Green University
At the end of the ceremony, appreciation shields were distributed to the technical and ministerial committees and the tournament referees.
And the winning teams were crowned with medals and the tournament cup.
