The Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance at the Presidency of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University participated in a training course on the application of the approved standards system for evaluating institutional performance, which was held at Al-Kafeel University.
This participation came in implementation of Iraqi Council of Ministers Resolution No. 144 (2018), which mandates the adoption of an approved standards system for assessing institutional performance in government institutions, and in accordance with the directives of General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers to involve all universities in presenting an executive status report on institutional performance evaluation.
The training was delivered by the team of trainers from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, represented by Abbas Mohsen Zaboun, Director of the Institutional Performance Evaluation Department at the Audit and Oversight Directorate, in the presence of Ali Khalil Dhiban, Director of the Institutional Performance Evaluation Department at Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Participants in the course included Hammam Abdul Moneim Saleh, Head of the Institutional Performance Evaluation Unit; Adhraa Mahdi Hussein from the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance; and Haider Abdul Rahim Mousa from the University Presidency, in addition to a number of trainees from other public and private universities.
The course covered an explanation of the evaluation standards framework, methods for preparing the “status document” for institutional performance assessment, responses to participants’ questions and inquiries, and discussions of practical applications related to document preparation.
