Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, the university participated in the Iraqi Universities 3×3 Basketball Championship, which witnessed broad participation from public universities as well as private universities and colleges.
It is worth noting that the championship was organized under the supervision of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority – Student Activities Department at the Ministry, as part of a series of student activities for the 2025–2026 academic year / second semester. The event was hosted by Ashur University, in cooperation with a number of public and private universities, and was attended by a distinguished group of academic and sports figures.
Representing Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in this البطولة was a distinguished team composed of students from various university formations, under the supervision of a specialized coaching staff. The team delivered a notable performance that reflected a high level of preparation and dedication, affirming the university’s commitment to supporting sports activities and strengthening its active presence in various ministerial championships.
The draw placed Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in Group B alongside University of Technology, University of Mosul, Al-Zahrawi University, University of Samarra, University of Karbala, and Jabir ibn Hayyan University. The championship competitions continued over several days, during which the university team played a series of important matches, delivering an outstanding performance that received wide acclaim and demonstrated a high level of readiness as well as technical and physical competence.
Notably, on the sidelines of the championship’s technical meeting, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University was honored with the Shield of Excellence in recognition of its distinguished efforts and effective contributions to hosting the event, as well as its prominent role in ensuring the success of the البطولة and supporting the advancement of sports activities at the university level.
