The Board of Directors of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its tenth session for the academic year 2022-2023, under the chairmanship of President of Al-Fourt Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, and in the presence of the members of the Board and a number of department directors at the University Presidency.
During the session, Al-Zuhairy spoke about the recent meeting of the Prime Minister, with the participation of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aubaidi, and the members of the opinion authority, where the Prime Minister emphasized the need to align the outputs of higher education with the needs of the job market, reviewing and reassessing the specialties that are no longer needed in the market, and the need to efficiently utilize the available resources, including the resources of the Higher Education Fund, to achieve the best performance levels. This includes the implementation of awareness programs on the risks of drugs and their negative effects on society.
On another note,The President of Al-Fourt Al-Awsat Tecchincal University emphasized the adoption and promotion of the initiatives recently launched by His Excellency the Minister, Dr. Al-Aubaidi, including the “Study in Iraq” initiative and the higher education competition for reading, which will have positive impacts on the cultural and intellectual development of our dear students.
Al-Zuhairy praised the efforts made by the scientific, preparatory, supporting committees, researchers, and participants, which resulted in the success of the second international scientific conference in achieving the goals of sustainable development. The conference was held recently in partnership with Al-Mustaqbal University and Tabriz University in Iran, where one hundred and one hundred eighty-five research papers were presented and discussed on topics related to the conference themes.
Regarding scientific research activities, Al-Zuhairy called upon the members of the Board, including the professors, researchers, and postgraduate students, to adopt the problems faced by the government and the private sector as applied research projects that embody the concept of the university in serving society.
After that, the topics on the agenda were reviewed and discussed, and the necessary decisions and recommendations were made.
