he Board of Directors of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its third session for the 2025–2026 academic year at the Babylon Technical Institute, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, President of the University, and attended by the esteemed members of the Board and the relevant department directors at the university presidency.
They were received by the Dean of the Institute, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Najah Kadhim, along with the institute’s senior staff.

The University President opened the session by highlighting the most important directives issued by His Excellency the Minister during the recent meeting of the Ministerial Council of Opinion, in which he emphasized the following:

  1. Announcing the results of central admissions to universities and instructing all formations to begin completing the registration procedures for admitted students according to the announced timelines, while taking the necessary measures regarding the digital appeals portal designated for students who did not receive admission for various reasons.
  2. Advancing scientific research efforts by working towards having local scientific journals accepted and indexed in global databases through the application of rigorous scientific publishing standards and strengthening the international presence of Iraqi academic institutions.
  3. Addressing the status of graduate students appointed for the year 2025 in accordance with the laws, regulations, and ministerial circulars issued based on the First Amendment to the Law on the Equivalency of Arab and Foreign Academic Degrees No. 20 of 2020.
  4. Adhering to the timelines for opening the coding system for top graduates—both first-ranking and advanced—by the Federal Service Council, for the purpose of uploading graduate data according to the announced schedule.

On another note, the University President directed the deans to:

  1. Follow up on the progress and regularity of lectures for first-year students, and work on completing the preparation of classrooms and laboratories to ensure smooth student attendance at all levels.
  2. Continuously work on capacity building for staff by involving them in developmental and awareness training courses that meet the highest performance standards.
  3. Ensure prioritization in responding to the reports of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit and addressing the observations raised by the Integrity Commission within the specified timelines, and resolving any pending issues if present.
  4. Emphasize humane treatment of staff and students, resolving issues without delay, and embodying the core values adopted by the university.
  5. Conduct field follow-ups on services provided to dormitory students, identifying their needs and meeting them according to available resources, especially at the beginning of the academic year.
  6. Ensure that all university formations adopt initiatives that contribute to enhancing the academic reputation of the institution.
  7. Carry out field auditing of performance across all work sectors.

In the same context, the Council reviewed the topics listed on the meeting agenda and discussed a number of academic, administrative, and student-related matters, taking the necessary recommendations regarding them.
