The Council of ALFurat ALAwsat Technical University held its first session for the academic year 2022-2023 at the Campus in Kufa. The session was chaired by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mudhaffar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, and in the presence of all members of the University Council, including vice president and deans, as well as hosting the directors of the concerned departments in the Presidency of the University.
Al-Zuhairy began the session by welcoming and reviewing the directives of the Minister to the university leaders, especially those related to the consolidation of the educational process and the activation of the scientific research movement, and the members of the University Council were directed to work under them.
The President of the University at the beginning of his speech addressed congratulations to the members of the Council and through them to all professors, employees and students of the University on the occasion of the start of the new academic year 2022-2023, calling for a promising start through concerted efforts to achieve the best level of education.
Al-Zuhairy directed to follow up the implementation of the vocabulary and give the practical and applied aspect the utmost importance, especially since the acquisition of skill to the graduate is among the priorities of work in technical universities.
Also stressed on following up the regularity of work and teaching according to the announced schedules, investing time optimally and holding meetings with staffs as well as students to coincide with the start of the academic year.
Al-Zuhairy pointed to the review of updates in scientific departments and branches in line with the plans of the university and meets the needs of the labor market, determining the job title of outputs in the disciplines that are updated , and adhering to the timings specified by the Ministry regarding updates , timings and other contexts related to the holding of scientific conferences inside or outside Iraq. AL-Zuhairy instructed the members of the Council to follow up the work on reconstruction projects and rehabilitation of infrastructure to ensure the application of technical specifications in enforcement .
At the same time, AL-Zuhairy praised the efforts of the Department of Reconstruction and Projects in the Presidency of the University and the engineering and technical staff in the institutions , deanships and supporting team , which resulted in the implementation of promising projects whose opening recently the presence of the local government and constituted a qualitative leap in the field of reconstruction and construction at the university, including the opening of the workshop of aircraft engineering techniques, the administrative wing and the classrooms attached to it in the Engineering Technical College of Najaf, the building of computer laboratories in the Technical Institute of Kufa, and Square and station of Zamzam for refrigerated drinking water on campus in Kufa.
The Council departure to discuss the paragraphs included in the agenda of the session, which included administrative and scientific paragraphs represented by the presentation of a working paper submitted by the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations that included proposals for partnerships between Iraqi and international universities, also reviewed the procedures of the Presidency of the University and the institutions on dealing with a number of files, including the Committee on Energy Support and Reducing Emissions , the Government Communication Committee, the Committee Business incubators and the Committee for Awareness of the Dangers of Drugs, in addition to a number of other paragraphs included in the Agenda and the necessary recommendations and decisions were
