On a canvas of creativity, where art meets talent and blank spaces are transformed into vibrant works of art, the Middle Euphrates Technical University held its Fine Arts Festival under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Dean of Al-Musayyib Technical College, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Zubaidi. The festival was organized by the Director of the University’s Student Activities Department, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division at the college, celebrating creativity and artistic expression.
The festival, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdul-Jalil Al-Tamimi, Director of the Student Activities Department, commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in tribute to Iraq’s honored martyrs and the playing of the national anthem. Subsequently, Dr. Fadhil Mohammed Dhahir, Dean of Karbala Polytechnic College and the representative of the University President, delivered a speech in which he praised the university administration’s support for student talents, emphasizing that students constitute a fundamental pillar of higher education.
The festival, which featured participation from various university departments and academic formations, included several exhibitions showcasing different forms of fine art, such as freehand drawing, acrylic painting, sketching, and shading, alongside handicrafts and sculpture. These diverse artistic displays created an integrated creative space that reflected the breadth of students’ talents and the richness of their artistic expression.
The festival highlighted the diverse talents of students and showcased their creative works, each bearing their distinctive artistic signature and reflecting their passion and aesthetic sensibilities. It also reaffirmed the university’s role as a platform for discovering creative individuals, nurturing gifted students, and fostering an environment conducive to creativity and innovation.
On this occasion, Professor Dr. Ali Al-Zubaidi, Dean of Al-Musayyib Technical College, stated:
“We are delighted to host this festival at Al-Musayyib Technical College, as it embodies the spirit of creativity and fair competition among university students. It also confirms that fine arts are not merely an intellectual luxury, but rather a cultural language that expresses the aspirations and inner sentiments of generations.
“We sought to make this space a meeting point for young talents and a platform for showcasing the refined artistic sensibilities and creative abilities of our students, which deserve recognition, support, and nurturing. The college remains committed to supporting all student activities because of their significant role in shaping students’ personalities and developing their talents.”
As part of the festival’s accompanying activities, visual artist Eng. Hassan Imran Al-Kaif, a faculty member at Al-Musayyib Technical College, participated by exhibiting his paintings, which conveyed themes of life and hope.
