Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, the Middle Euphrates Technical University participated with its student teams in the University Individual Sports Championship for Iraqi university students.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research — the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority / Department of Student Activities — with wide participation from public universities as well as private universities and colleges.

The University participated in three sporting events: swimming, powerlifting (male students only), and table tennis (male and female students). A group of talented students represented the University after undergoing several selection tests to choose the best athletes with high performance levels, under the supervision of the University’s Department of Student Activities.

Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi affirmed that the University places great importance on student activities and works to empower its students to participate effectively in ministerial championships.
He added that the performance demonstrated by the University’s students reflects a high level of commitment and ambition, noting that the University provides an environment that nurtures students’ talents and builds their confidence to achieve distinguished results. He also praised the great efforts made by the coaching and administrative staff for their essential role in preparing the University’s teams to reach top levels.

For his part, Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Director of the Department of Student Activities, stated that the University teams’ participation in this championship comes as part of the department’s continuous efforts to train students athletically and provide all necessary preparations to enhance their readiness for ministerial competitions.
He added that the participating students delivered remarkable performances, reflecting the University’s dedication to promoting university sports and supporting outstanding talents, emphasizing that this participation will be an important step toward achieving advanced results in future championships, God willing.
