The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University attended the celebration organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research on the occasion of the announcement by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, marking the end of the paper-based era at the Ministry and the launch of a new phase of full automation for academic administration and administrative transactions.
In his speech during the comprehensive digital governance celebration at the Ministry, attended by senior staff, university presidents, deans, and representatives of several state institutions, he emphasized that January 19, 2026, marks a pivotal milestone in the Ministry’s institutional performance journey, representing a conscious transition to a non-traditional strategic identity that draws its effectiveness from the requirements of internationalization, leadership contexts, and institutional excellence standards.
He explained that through this transition and digital transformation, the Ministry consolidates its leading position in strategic planning and the automated implementation of the correspondence and digital archiving system within a record timeframe, ensuring the integrity of administrative procedures and improving performance efficiency. He noted that eliminating paper-based processes represents a long-term commitment, accompanied by conscious sustainability in developing digital infrastructure, enhancing staff capabilities, and strengthening information security to ensure the continuity and stability of full electronic administration.
The celebration included screenings of several documentary films outlining the digital transformation journey, alongside a presentation by the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaily, regarding the electronic correspondence and archiving system. Additionally, Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi honored senior staff members and several distinguished universities in recognition of their contributions to this strategic initiative, while appreciating the active role of the Ministry’s employees in completing the required procedures.
