The President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, along with his accompanying delegation, attended the activities of the Eighth International Scientific Conference on Advanced Engineering Technologies, organized by the Southern Technical University – Basra Engineering Technical College.
The conference, held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and supervised by the President of the Southern Technical University, Prof. Dr. Adnan Abdullah Atiq, convened under the theme:
“Advanced Engineering Technologies in the Service of Sustainable Development.”
The opening session of the conference commenced with a welcoming address delivered by the President of the Southern Technical University, in which he emphasized the importance of advancing scientific research and harnessing it to serve society and support pathways to sustainable development.
On behalf of His Excellency the Minister, Prof. Dr. Lubna Khamees Mahdi, Director General of the Department of Research and Development, delivered a speech praising the high level of organization and the efforts devoted to ensuring the success of this scientific forum.
Following that, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Shaker Shafiq Al-Mulla, President of the Scientific Research Authority, delivered remarks underscoring the necessity of integrating academic and research efforts to strengthen innovation and scientific advancement.
The conference was attended by several university presidents, deans, government officials, and distinguished researchers.
The University President was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Bashar Jabbar Hamza, Dean of the Higher Institute for Nanotechnology Techniques, and Prof. Dr. Faris Al-Jaifari, Dean of the newly established College of Medical Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Technology in Najaf.
