As part of his ongoing follow-up on construction and reconstruction projects, the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, reviewed the final stages and progress rates of the new building of the Office of Scientific and Consulting Services at the University Presidency, Kufa site.
It is worth noting that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University – Office of Scientific and Consulting Services – the Engineering Laboratory at the University Presidency had previously been accredited in accordance with the requirements of the standard:
ISO/IEC 17025:2017
(General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories),
thereby qualifying the Engineering Consulting Office as one of the accredited entities in conducting construction materials testing and metallic materials testing, in addition to providing its consulting services to all state institutions and the private sector.
In turn, Dr. Haider Ridhiwi, Director of the Office of Scientific and Consulting Services, delivered a detailed presentation to the University President on the completion rates and stages of work progress. The President also provided his observations and called for expediting completion in accordance with standard specifications.
The University President was accompanied by the Assistants to the President for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai and Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Mohsen Al-Majtumi, the Dean of the Higher Institute for Nanotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, the Director of the Construction and Projects Department, Dr. Muhannad Al-Khaqani, and the engineering consulting team at the University Presidency.
For his part, Al-Zubaidi praised the role played by the Office of Scientific and Consulting Services in providing scientific consultations and laboratory tests that serve our dear country.
He further emphasized the effectiveness of the University’s role in offering engineering consultations in support of the reconstruction process, affirming that Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University aspires to be at the forefront of Iraqi universities through its distinguished engineering staff in advancing urban development projects in our beloved country.
