Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Halu Al-Askari, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and under the slogan “From the Land of Mesopotamia, the Innovations of Our Creative Students Take Off,” the activities of Entrepreneurship Week were launched on the morning of Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Al-Musayyib Technical College, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University.
The five-day event embodies the spirit of innovation and the transformation of ideas into tangible realities. It offers a diverse program of activities designed to unleash students’ potential and consolidate a culture of entrepreneurship and self-employment.
The week is not limited to theoretical aspects; rather, it integrates practical application through the presentation of innovative student projects, art exhibitions reflecting visual creativity, and productive projects independently developed by students. This approach creates a realistic simulation of the labor market, transforming the college corridors into platforms for showcasing and marketing students’ handcrafted and creative products.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Ali Al-Zubaidi, toured the exhibition, reviewed the students’ projects and displayed products, and listened to detailed explanations of their ideas and implementation mechanisms.
During his visit, Dr. Al-Zubaidi emphasized that such activities constitute a fundamental pillar of the college’s strategy to build a generation of young people who do not merely seek traditional employment, but are capable of creating job opportunities through entrepreneurship and innovation. He praised the organized and creative efforts of the students, noting that initiatives of this kind represent a genuine cornerstone for building a national economy based on knowledge and skills.
The program also includes a series of specialized lectures aimed at enhancing students’ skills in business plan development and startup management. In addition, students are given the opportunity to learn from inspiring success stories of peers who have successfully transformed their ideas into real-world ventures.
Overall, Entrepreneurship Week represents an integrated platform for promoting a culture of innovation and self-employment, while reinforcing the role of technical colleges in serving society and the national economy by preparing qualified cadres capable of leading future economic development.
