Under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Lateef Al-Zubaidi, and with the direct supervision of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, the Continuing Education Division at the Central Library, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, carried out a voluntary initiative on campus aimed at promoting a culture of volunteerism and reinforcing the values of belonging and responsibility among students and staff.

The event was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai; the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Awad Kurdi; the Director of the Central Library, Assistant Professor Dr. Sahira Ayed Abdul Sahib; and the Head of the Human Rights Division, Assistant Lecturer Wasan Thabit Rashid, along with several university staff members and students who contributed to the success of this initiative.

The initiative included equipping four locations across the university campus with modern shades and their designated stands, providing comfortable and shaded areas for students and employees as they move around or wait within the university grounds.

This effort represents an important step toward establishing volunteer work as a sustainable and impactful practice that strengthens the spirit of cooperation and giving.

Through this initiative, the University aims to reinforce the culture of volunteerism and support activities that contribute to creating an integrated campus environment where students and staff play an active role in serving their university and improving its facilities—reflecting a strong sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
