In the halls of the Najaf Technical Institute, Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University held its fifth annual celebration in honor of the auspicious birth of the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), under the patronage and attendance of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and the supervision of the Dean of the Institute, Professor Dr. Haider Hassan Al-Abdeli. The ceremony, which coincided with the opening of the building of the Department of Cosmetic and Laser Techniques and the building of the Department of Dental Prevention and Orthodontics Technologies, which aim to enhance scientific research and provide advanced academic programs in medical specialties, was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mohsen Al-Majtoumi, the Dean of the Technical Engineering College in Najaf, Professor Dr. Hassanein Ghani Al-Hussaini, and the directors of departments in the presidency of the university and a large number of guests, distinguished students in the schools of Najaf Governorate and their families, in addition to the advanced staff of the institute, affiliates and university students. The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of the martyrs. For his part, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, delivered a speech in which he referred to the virtues of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), his fragrant biography, and the importance of his role in Islam and the clear verses and indications mentioned in his virtue in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah, calling for inspiration from his biography in all its aspects and vocabulary that words and meanings cannot encompass. He indicated that the opening of such qualitative projects, which will contribute to enhancing scientific research and academic progress, came as an annual tradition adopted by the university in honor of the birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), so that these buildings, with their model halls and laboratories equipped with modern technologies that keep pace with technological developments in the world, are a witness to the scientific giving provided by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University to serve and meet the needs of society. In his speech, the President of the University praised the efforts of the Deanship of the Institute and the advanced engineering, technical and administrative staff to complete the requirements of these scientific departments. At the end of his speech, he thanked all the preparatory and organizing committees for the ceremony, and the blessed attendees of advanced staff, affiliates, university students, and families of orphans, thanking them for participating in the university’s celebration on Christmas Day. The ceremony’s activities also included listening to the Muwashahat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali’s Chanting Band, which sang about the love of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, in addition to honoring the distinguished students in the schools of Najaf Governorate.
