At the Headquarters of Middle Euphrates Technical University in the Holy City of Kufa… The University’s Board of Directors Charts the Course for a New Academic Year

At the headquarters of the Middle Euphrates Technical University Presidency – Kufa Campus, the University’s Board of Directors held its second meeting for the academic year 2026–2027, chaired by the University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Latif Al-Zubaidi, and attended by the Board members and the directors of the relevant departments at the University Presidency.

At the outset of the meeting, the University President reviewed the directives issued by His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the latest meeting of the Opinion Committee, calling for their immediate implementation. The Minister’s key directives included the following:

  • Expanding partnerships between universities, research centres, and the economic and industrial sectors to transform research findings and studies into practical applications and solutions that address community needs and open up new horizons for development.
  • Completing the auditing and approval of student data for applicants to the unified central admission system for the current academic year 2026–2027, including graduates of preparatory education, vocational education, Islamic studies, and other categories.
  • Completing the process of entering student grades into the GB Examination Committee System, while taking the necessary measures to finalise the entry of student data and grades for the first and second semesters of students who passed in the first examination round. This is intended to fulfil the technical requirements and facilitate the distribution of students across the QI Learn educational student systems, in conjunction with the commencement of the current academic year.
  • Organising awareness-raising and educational seminars and workshops to explain the mechanisms for receiving information and reports concerning corruption and illicit enrichment, and to familiarise participants with the procedures to be followed, thereby enhancing awareness of these matters and ensuring their proper implementation.

In line with the Ministry’s directives, the University President issued the following instructions:

  • Declaring a state of heightened readiness to register students admitted for the current academic year 2026–2027 in both morning and evening study programmes, and conducting field visits to monitor the performance of reception and registration committees.
  • Following up on reconstruction projects and infrastructure rehabilitation works to ensure compliance with specifications and the quality of implementation.
  • Monitoring the progress and regularity of lectures for students in advanced academic stages, while completing preparations for lecture halls and laboratories to ensure the smooth organisation of attendance for students across all academic stages.
  • Encouraging all university formations to adopt initiatives that contribute to enhancing the University’s academic reputation through activating memoranda of understanding concluded with prestigious international universities and organising joint scientific conferences and workshops.

The Board concluded its meeting by reviewing the items listed on the agenda, discussing a range of academic, administrative, financial, and student-related matters, and adopting the necessary recommendations and decisions accordingly.
